Getting married is in and of itself one of life’s most memorable occasions, but getting married in a gorgeous destination is even more thrilling! Destination weddings have been quite the rage outside of India for eons, but the trend has finally picked up in India, too. Here’s taking a look at 5 Bollywood celebrities whose destination weddings truly gave us all #ShaadiGoals.
Anushka Sharma & Virat Kohli – Italy
Last year’s most talked about desi wedding was no doubt Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s! This adorable, powerhouse couple exchanged vows in Tuscany. A magical location for an equally magical couple! However, they did throw two receptions, afterward – one in Delhi and one in Mumbai. We like how they kept the actual wedding an intimate affair, though. After all, weddings are about celebrating with people who are actually close to you.
Kunal Kapoor & Naina Bachchan – Seychelles
When our Meenaxi boy got hitched to Amitabh Bachchan’s niece, Naina, back in 2015, they exchanged vows at Seychelles Islands. How romantic! Their magical beach wedding was attended only by family members and select friends. Of course, later on, they threw a reception bash in Delhi, which more people were invited to.
Lisa Haydon & Dino Lalwani – Thailand
Gorgeous model-actress Lisa Haydon’s wedding with Dino Lalvani was one of 2016’s most talked about B-town weddings and for good reason – it looked Insta-perfect in every way. Attended by close family and friends, the two looked divine at their wedding ceremony in Phuket. And, all of the guests looked picture-perfect, too, and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Thailand seems to be an increasingly popular wedding spot – Amrita Puri and Imrun Sethi also opted to get married there in 2017, except they selected Bangkok, instead of the beach!
Lara Dutta & Mahesh Bhupathi – Goa
Although Lara Data married Mahesh Bhupati in a civil ceremony in Bandra, first, they quickly followed it up with a relaxing ceremony in Goa at Sunset Point. One of the benefits of destination weddings for celebrities is that they can keep paparazzi away. The Taj Aguada Hotel was an excellent choice for their wedding – it overlooks the Indian Ocean, which is a really dreamy backdrop. It has been several years, but we still can’t get over Lara’s ten-metre long trail and diamond tiara. She looked stunning! Goa is a great destination for those who want to pick a location within India itself – even Anita Hassanandani and Rohit Reddy brought in their wedding here.
Neil Nitin Mukesh & Rukmini Sahay – Udaipur
Johnny Gaddar hottie Neil Nitin Mukesh’s entire wedding radiated traditional vibes – what better location that the royal city of Udaipur? While their engagement was a pretty hush-hush affair ’till they announced it on social media, their wedding was as grand as it could get in 2017, with a pre-wedding cocktail party, mehndi, sangeet and grand wedding.
